I just received a notification of this report and pass on some
information contained in the glossy brochure that promotes it.
Is it a good report ? Who knows, as most of us will never
"The European Market for Organic Foods" Published by Corporate
Intelligence on Retailing, Lebhar-Friedman Inc.,
425 Park Ave., New York 1002233-56 tel: 212-756-5159
This report appears to provide quite a comprehensive survey of
the state of organic in Europe. It provides an overview of
regulation, standards, production, trade, processing, market size
distribution, government programs etc etc. for Europe in general
and individual sections on Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy
Sweden, and the UK.
The really interesting thing about the report is its price. It
can be had for "only" $1,145 (US dollars that is), but just coming up
with this kind of cash is not enough. You also must sign a
copyright agreement if you purchase the document ... "is protected
by interenational copyrightlaws and is for the exclusive internal use
of the purchasing organisation. It may not be disseminated in any
form - even parts of it - to third parties, without specific prior
permission in writing."
... welcome to the cost of doing business in the mainstream ....
