Upcoming Conference:
March 13 and 14, 1999, 'Organic Business: Can It Be Ecological and
Ethical?' This is the theme of the Northeast Organic Farming
Association of New York's 17th Annual Conference. The two-day event is
being held in Dryden, NY at the Tompkins/Cortland Community College
campus. Over 40 workshops are being offered. Workshops include a broad
range of topics of interest to the farmer, backyard organic gardener,
the food system activist, people thinking about making their living
farming organically and people interested in environmental issues
related to reducing pesticide use. The two-day event structure allows
attendees to choose among five different topics for each of four time
slots on Saturday and three time slots on Sunday. Please also join us
for the keynote address, fabulous organic meals, and a wine and cheese
tasting party Saturday night before dinner. The keynote speakers are
Jack and Anne Lazor of Butterworks Farm, the oldest organic yogurt farm

price break and same-building child care can be arranged for early-birds
for an extra charge (no later than 2/12). Full two-day conference rates
(including breakfast and lunch both days) are $60 for earlybirds, $75
