I do not believe anyone hates war more than a warrior who has been there.
I am a retired Navy man who is authorized four stars on my Vietnam
Campaign Ribbon.
I also fully comprehend that there are monsters in this world who will
understand only one language; harsh, hard hitting reprisal. Saddam is one
of those.
But the recent strikes against Iraq were very carefully timed, not for
their effect on Saddam's understanding that he must comply with the UN
resolutions, but instead for their diversionary characteristics on the
minds of the American people. If they had been meant to be instructive to
Saddam, they should have taken place three months (or six months) earlier.
Other than the fact I might have used slightly (well, a lot) stronger
language, and the fact I would have tempered it something like the above, I
agree with the sentiments expressed by "Farm Connection" as quoted below:
>I am disgusted with the continual postings in support of Clinton, he is the
>epitomy of the sick corporate culture which has destroyed our health and
>our
>food supply - the only farm family in Clinton's circle is the Tyson chicken
>family. He has demonstrated himself to be a serial sexual predator, a
>habitual liar, and even now continues his diversionary attack on the people
>of Iraq. Lets not overlook his support of GATT, NAFTA, fast track. the
>IMF, the Mexican bailout, and watch out for the next little surprise he is
>about to foist on us, the MAI (multilateral agreement on investments).
And...I probably would have added a short reminder of the cowardly manner
in which he entirely avoided military service.
