Recently I saw a request from "Holly" on sanet for information about
small scale processing equipment for
dairy. Two sources I know are:
Courtney Haase, New Hampshire, builds one-at-a-time pasteurizers for 25
gallon capacity and
automatic bottler. cost in the $15,000 range. Contact her at
nunsuch@conknet.com.
Pladot Mini Dairy from Israel has opened operation in US with Bob Turner
as national sales
manager. They have 50 to 250 gallon range pasteurizers for milk and
juice, and cheese equipment,
bottlers, and more. Contact them at turnerr@cvn.net or office phone
717-338-0671.
I want to correspond with dairy farmers in the 10 to 30 cow range who
are pasteurizing and bottling
for local markets. Particularly organic and grass based seasonal. Where
can I buy small-scale used and new
equipment that will pass inspection? Does anyone have a small-scale
facility operating that I can visit? Does
anyone have an idea as to market potential for local, organic milk and
milk products in my area of Virginia
between Roanoke and Charlottesville, 4 hours west of Washington DC?
Please contact me at this address.
Thank You
Andy Lee
