BECOME A RODALE INSTITUTE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATOR AT
DISNEY'S GARDEN & FLOWER FESTIVAL

If you've ever dreamed of expressing your convictions about health and the environment to thousands of people, then this unique 6 1/2 month work-study program could be your opportunity of a lifetime. The Rodale lnstitute, a worldwide leader working with people to achieve a regenerative food system, is putting together a three-person team to present its story of Healthy Soil, Healthy Food, Healthy PeopleŽ to Epcot's Garden & Flower Festival guests in early spring. During your stay at Epcot you will receive a small stipend, and also receive an hourly wage for the remainder of your internship based at the Rodale Institute Experimental Farm.

Your internship will consist of:

January 25-Februay 5, 1999
Stay at the farm and learn about the Rodale Institute for a period of about two weeks from our qualified staff.

February 7-April 16, 1999
You will be trained at the Disney School to prepare for our presentation. You will work with the Disney Team, as well as the Rodale Institute Creative Team to develop and implement our presentation.

April 16-Mav 30, 1999
You will be doing, your actual presentation at the International Garden & Flower Festival as part of the "'Gardening for Foods Around the World" theme. You will be working and sharing information with international communicators from Africa, Latin America and Asia.

June 2- July 23, 1999
You will return to the Rodale Institute to work with our staff in developing an educational product. based on your presentation. Your skills may be required for other possible activities at Rodale.

We're looking for individuals with:
1. A scientific/agricultural back-round, who are able to demonstrate enthusiasm for communicating and sharing knowledge in an informative and entertaining manner with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds in a family-oriented environment.
2. Demonstrated excellent ability to develop interactive presentations and get audience involvement.
3. Good speaking voice, people-oriented, and a good level of humor and comfort in front of audiences.
4. This is a good position for the person with a BS in biology or agriculture who is planning to go on for and MS or Ph.D., and has particular interest in soils and horticulture research, and/or is planning to further their studies in a related position.
