Inke and Martin are also going to be starting a line of organic ice cream -
now isn't that a great idea!
Here in BC, we have access to only one organic dairy, Jerseyland from
northern BC. They can do it because they process only milk from their own
cows. The rest of us have to find a way of shipping and processing our milk
separately from the entire rest of the system (quota is not for organic
milk yet). There is also a small cheese company in Armstrong BC, called
Village Cheese Co., who are trying to start their own organic line, in
cooperation with local farmers. If anyone knows of farmers in central BC
who want to start a cooperative to process and market organic milk, let me
know!
