Tom Frantzen, Iowa farmer and SARE producer grant recipient, was featured
in a newsletter some consider outside the ag press, The Humane Society of
the United States News, Winter 1999, Vol. 44 No. 1.
He describes his inspiration for changing his farming system, starting in
1979. He also discusses his involvement with the Practical Farmers of Iowa,
holistic management, and using hoop houses to raise pigs.
