Hi Sanetters
Most of us in Ag are not out to RAPE the EARTH. The more we learn about
methods that help to sustain the ag system-earth the better we are able to
incorporate some of these techniques into our systems. Its hard to look
at your crop-production system and because it offends someone just shut it
down. We are looking at changing from chemical pesticides to Biological
control techniques. We are looking at using composting as away to reduce
chemical fertilizers. But somehow someone in this country still has to
grow enough food to feed all of the people who don't or can't farm.
Somehow the food produced still has to get to market. I think that SA
ideas will gradually improve the system but it will take some time. Keep
working on the issue. sgrower1@rain.org
