Thanks for great advice on helping me with my thrips. Yeah I'm fairly sure
it was thrips. The fruit turned rust like in color. I'm may try Orius
spp. which I see at one insectary for $60 for 500. I think it will live
here in Santa Barbara over winter and astablish itself here. Wounder how
many I would need to treat 5 arces. Where would one get a good price on
that sapodilia (bad spelling) how do you put that one on. I had to try
to hold the fruit on the tree a little longer because the prices on
avocados was so darn low I keep waiting for it to go up and the thrips had
a fildday. I will save that information on temputure the better we know
the bad guys the better our chances of fighting them off. When do you think
the best time to release Orius. I have to make a little money go a long
way and I know timeing is real important. I wish I knew about more about
Orius. its life cycle and its habits. Does anyone got a gif (picture )
of Orius. I like to learn everything about the players in Biological
Control . I want more info on the benefical and the target as I think
biological control is a key.I would like to see gifs of both and gifs of
the damange they do so we can reconize whats happening. If anyone has
pictures that are public domain I can scan them in as gifs and upload them
somewhere . Most computers can read gifs can't they? A picture is worth
1000 words.
