I came across this almost-full page ad in the Washington Post yesterday,
and was curious about what the farmers among you would think about it. I
haven't seen the brochure, mentioned at the bottom of the page, called
"Tending the Earth". Here's the text of the ad, set against a large
photo of mostly sky, with a farm (looks like acres of corn growing there)
at the base of the photo:
"They may be the world's most active environmentalists and are commited
to preserving nature for future generations. To improving the quality of
our land and our water. They work hard each and every day to make sure
the food that feeds the world is both safe and abundant. Who are they?
America's farmers. And the land is their legacy."
("This message brought to you by the thousands of agricenter dealers who
support the efforts of the american farmer every day." - Agricenter
dealer logo, with the words professionalism, service, and environmental
responsibility.)
"For more information on what the American farmer is doing to preserve
the environment, send a self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope to:
Cyanamid Response Center, 17 North Washington Avenue, Minneapolis, MN,
55401, and we'll send you a free "Tending to the Earth" brochure.
As I said, I'm interested in your thoughts on this, if any.
