Folks,
I have just attended a two day meeting on the status of
knowledge about use and problems of dealing with manure. An important
point made at this session was the use of language and how resources
are handled. I suggest that you eliminate the word "waste" in all
references to animal by-products, whether they be manure, dead animals,
or by-products of meat packing. In addition to using a positive term
that indicates a useful resource, in many cases you can use one
word--manure--in place of two--animal waste--and communication is
improved.
