The folks at Equal Exchange are quite knowledgeable about the
producers they deal with, agriculture and food issues. They
are also folks of integrity and any information they passed
on to you is informed.
If you have further questions I'm sure they would be glad to
answer them.

Equal Exchange is itself a worker owned cooperative operating
out of Massachussets, they imports coffees from farmer's coop-
eratives around the world. Some of the coffees they import are
organic, I know they have organics now from Peru & Costa Rica,
and I think Mexico. Again, all the coffees they import are from
farmer owned co-ops. They pay a better than market price to their
produ cers and the concept is one of fair trade. If folks are
interested I will dig up the address/ contact number.
As a co-op person, and coffee drinker I recommend coffee drinkers
on SANET look for Equal Exchange coffees at food co-ops or natural
food stores near you or buy 'em by mail from Equal Exchange.
