Hi. I am trying to put the finishing touches on a newsletter I write for our
CSA project, and am interested in the current status of the following pieces of
legislation.
1. "The Food Safety & Inspection Act of 1993," by Sen. Dave Durenberger.
I haven't heard anything about it in a long time, so my guess is that it
may have died in committee.
2. The Lehman-Bliley Bill (HR 1627)
3. The Kennedy-Waxman Bill (S. 331, HR 872)
4. The Clinton proposal. I assume this will be introduced sometime early next
year.
In addition, what is the exact status of BST? I assume the 90 day moratorium is
now in effect. Will the legislature necessarily revisit
the issue within the next 90 days?
Thanks in advance for your most valuable assistance.
