The "Teamster 2000" is an animal-drawn forecart of modern
design and manufacture. The blurb that follows was written by the
company that makes it in the US and licenses it to Russia, Africa, and
elsewhere.
I called the phone number they give and they said they would
mail me promotional stuff on the draft horse NPO but they haven't. If
you're into this maybe you could get info out of them, I have other
things I need to fool with.

FARMERS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION NEED YOUR HELP!

The break-up of the former USSR has brought many challenges to
the citizens of the former "socialist empire." Of all the people
affected by recent events, Russian farmers are one group in the
greatest mneed of help. Over the past 70 years all private farms were
forcibly taken from individual farmers and organized into huge
(inefficient) collectives. These collectives relied solely upon a
high level of mechanization (supposedly representing progress), and
the use of draft animals was all but banished. The result of 70 years
of this policy has been the virtual disappearance of draft animals,
and all related equipment, from Russia.

Land is now being returned to individual farmers, and they are
being encouraged to farm on their own. But with what? The farmers
were always provided everything they needed from "the state" , and
now they have nothing. Baron Tayler, owner of Teamster Technologies,
has licensed the Teamster 2000 technology to one of the largest
factories in Russia. This factory (which used to make submarine parts
under the old regime) will soon begin manufacturing Teamster 2000s for
sale and distribution to Russian farmers in the Russian Federation at
prices they can afford. This will be a major step forward on the road
to independence for tens of thousands of Russian farmers who cannot
afford tractors or the fuel to run them.

But what will pull the Teamster 2000s? There are almost no
drfat horses left in Russia. This is where you can help. Teamster
Technologies, with the help of the Draft Horse and Mule Association of
America, is forming a non-profit foundation, "The Russian Draft Horse
Revitalization Project" which has the sole purpose of making draft
horses available to Russian farmers. Baron Tayler has secured pledges
from Russian organizations and private companies to set up breeding
facilities and distribute draft horses to Russian farmers. What can
you do to help? We're glad you asked. The first step is to gather
and ship to Russia 200 breeding mares and a half dozen stallions. If
you can donate a well-mannered breeding mare between the ages of 10
and 20, or a stallion of the same age, please do. These horses need
not be fit for field work. They don't have to be registered, and any
breed will suffice. They should be of good conformation, easy to
handle, capable of producing solid, even-tempered field work horses,
preferably 16 to 17 hands high. Used equipment can be utilized as
well, such as harness, collars, stocks, etc.... Donations of cash to
cover overhead (ie transportation and feeding) will also be
appreciated. To find out more about the Russian Draft Horse
Revitalization Project call 717 336 3696.
Our fellow Russian farmers need your help to survive. Let's
give them a hand.
