New SAN Committee Chair

I'm very pleased to tell you all that Jim Lukens of ATTRA took over from me
in October 1993 as the new chair of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN)
coordinating committee, for a three-year term. Gabriel Hegyes will continue
as coordinator, as he's been doing so ably for the past year. I'll remain
active on the committee for at least the next year. I'm really looking
forward to continued participation but reduced administrative
responsibilities, and very confident that SAN is in excellent hands
with Jim and Gabriel and the rest of the committee.

Those who have recently joined sanet-mg may not know that SAN is the sponsor
of sanet-mg, as well as other information sharing on sustainable agriculture,
including a directory of expertise, a compilation of educational materials, a
compendium of research projects, and a series of practical handbooks (the
first, on cover crops, is completed), all available in printed
publications, databases on the Internet, and "hypertext" databases on
diskette. SAN is funded by the national SARE/ACE programs. For more
