A creative new farm transition program is in place in Manitoba,
Canada, and Donna Hastings, one of its principal founders, will discuss
the Canadian effort 9 to noon Wednesday, Dec. 15th, at the
UW-Madison's J.F. Friedrick Center. The event is free and open to the
public.
It is sponsored by the Wisconsin Farm Entry/Exit Coalition. The
coalition aims to learn how Manitoba's experiences might contribute to
Wisconsin's efforts to construct comprehensive programming to
increase opportunities for young people to enter farming and for older
farmers to retire in economic security.
You are welcome to attend, if in the area, (free parking!) or to check
with me if interested in what we learn. (The Ag. Technology and
Family Farm Institute is a member of the coalition.)
