I am interested in this question as well. Last year I tried to get a
number for the average farm field size in Michigan and no one that I
contacted knew, including the state ag statistician. The estimates from a
number of people that work in agriculture (mostly at Michigan State U.)
ranged from 40 to 120 acres, if I remember correctly. I was surprised by
this lack of information, especially given the importance of field size to,
for example, ecologically-based pest management. I would think that with
today's satellite technology, etc if this information has not been compiled
by someone it could easily be done. Please share any information you
recieve. Thank you.

Subject: Size of fields/Dec 4
Dear colleagues,
I am looking for sources that can provide me with information on
DISTRIBUTION OF THE FIELDS (wheat, maize and rice in particular) in the
USA, Europe and Asia (especially Japan) ACCORDING TO THEIR SIZE. So far, I
have found infos about the size of farms (Not FIELDS). Therefore, it would
be highly appreciated if you could advise me on this matter.
Best regards,
Cyrus
