There are two organizations that I know of that provide on-line
directories of farms offering internship and apprenticeship opportunities:
Alternative Farming Systems Information Center (AFSIC)
National Agricultural Library
"Educational and Training Opportunities in Sustainable Agriculture"
Directory available in hardcopy (on request) or on-line at
http://www.nal.usda.gov/afsic/AFSIC_pubs/edtr10.htm
(a 1999 edition is currently being put together and will be available
in January)
Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas (ATTRA)
"Internships, Apprenticeships, & Sustainable Curricula"
http://www.attra.org/attra-rl/intern.html
I hope that your student finds what she is looking for. Please let me
know if we can mail you a free hardcopy of the AFSIC Directory.
Sincerely,
Mary V. Gold, Assistant Coordinator
