Hi - I enjoyed this post suggesting a good look into medicinal plants are
alternative parasiticides, but, as someone who's worked as an information
specialist for a medicinal plant information organization, I have to
comment that some of these suggestions are pretty radical. Wormwood, for
instance, can be downright dangerous in humans (with some serious side
effects) and its use in hogs would probably be completely experimental,
something a commercial farmer would want to get into extremely cautiously.
Several other herbs traditionally used for internal parasites are pretty
harsh to the system, while others' effectiveness (like garlic, in anything
like moderate amounts) is unproven.
