Macomb, IL --"Livestock Production.... Learning To Respect Our Earth"
Learn what problems may await us and what we can do to prevent them.
An educational seminar on the affects of large-scale "factory" farming
on the land, water, air, and economics.

Speakers will be:

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Kendall Thu, Professor of Univ. of Iowa
Topic on Agricultural Safety, and Health, and Sociological Impact

John Crabtree, Center For Rural Affairs, Walthill, NE
Market Accessability, social justice, and environmental stewardship to
family farmers.

Karen Hudson, from FARM (Families Against Rural Messes), Elmwood, IL
Originator of FARM group, farmer, and speaker on the devastation that
has been caused by the mega-livestock "factories", facts and figures,
affective legislation.

Paul Gebhart, from Christian County, IL
Organic farmer

Edie Galloway, Hancock County, IL
Speaker on living next to a mega-hog "factory" from personal experience,
and lack of legislative impact.

John Demaree, MS, Schuyler County, IL
Water Quality and Environment, organic farmer

Dan Wilson, Paullina, IA
Hog producer, 1 of 3 producers in the US using the Swedish Deep-Bedded
Group Swine System.

Seminar will be located at the VFW 1200 E. Jefferson, Macomb, IL 61455
Saturday 23rd January 1999.
Doors will open at 11:30am
Speakers start promptly at Noon until 4pm.
