Good news for those interested in Monsanto information - including those
who heard about the Monsanto issue of the Ecologist being pulped without
warning by their printer. The Ecologist has found a new printer and copies
of the issue are now available! I haven't seen a copy yet, but I've heard
it's quite interesting, and I'd expect so, with all the drama there's been
about it!!
If you want to get a copy of this issue, send $6 + $2.50 postage (=$8.50)
in a check written to "The Ecologist" to their American office. Include
your name and address, and request "the Monsanto issue." If your check will
arrive prior to 11/18, send it to this address: 850 Talbot Ave., Albany CA
94706. If it will arrive 11/18 or later, send it to their new address:
1920 Martin Luther King jr. Way, Berkeley CA 94704. (For a while after
11/18, they'll pickup mail at the old address. They just didn't want mail
going to the new address until 11/18.) Feel free to let them know that
you heard about this from Community Action Publications.
Note: If you get additional copies at the same time, you can save on
postage. For instance, 2 copies are $6 X 2 + $3 postage = $15, saving $1
postage on each copy.
If you have any questions, you can call the American office of the
Ecologist at (510) 527-3873. You can also check out the Ecologist's website
at <www.gn.apc.org/ecologist>. The Guardian newspaper in the UK has also
had some coverage of this situation <www.guardian.co.uk/>
I hope you find this information interesting. If you get a copy, please
feel free to let me know what you think about it.
Best regards -
Patricia Dines

p.s. For people not in the United States, the postage rates are surely
higher. Also, there may be ways to also get the issue through the UK or
other offices.
p.p.s. Thanks to the Bioneers conference folks for letting people at that
conference know that this issue was available here and what the phone # is!
