I agree lots of questions are locale specific, meaning better to ask
growers or ext agents or gardeners or x's from your locale. However, lots
of questions aren't, e.g., harvest technique questions. And, interestingly
having 100s of miles between you (when you're supplying the local market)
can help ease "competitive" feelings thereby aiding in a mutually
beneficial exchange of information.
In addition I grow some things that not too many folks around here are
growing, information from anywhere, filtered through with grains of salt,
can be and has been informative.
Just my two cents and defense of interent info exchange.
