One way is to use varieties resistant to downy mildew, though I don't
expect that will be popular - they have to replant and the varieties,
while good for wine, aren't the "classic" vinifera varieties. There are
a lot of French Hybrid wine grapes resistant to it, among other types.
I know - I have a lot of them. See http://www.hevanet.com/lonrom
