(1) The strenous objections have generated far more email than the
original posting. That is, had objectors just let it go on by, the topic
would be over and done with.
(2) I've seen lots of posts I consider slightly or wildly off topic here
on sanet. Not often do they garner much response. People read them and
enjoy them or delete them without reading or read, groan, and delete or
what have you but they don't post complaints to the list. Thereby,
insuring a quick demise to the topic. I have to wonder why *this*
particular post has garnered more attention, more strenous response.
Since this post too contributes to a seemingly off-topic discussion I will
now abruptly desist.
