Foundation Assistant
Location: Mt. Kisco, NY
Sponsored by Kohlberg Foundation/Cabbage Farm Foundation

Description:
Cabbage Hill is an experimental Farm Foundation in Mt. Kisco combining
sustainable agriculture, aquaculture(raising greens and fish in a
sustainable ecosystem) and furthering husbandry of rare breeds of farm
animals. Cabbage Hill also emphasizes the promotion of the small low-tech
farm. The Intern will help the farm and foundation manager to improve
business and marketing for both farm management and support at the Kohlberg
Foundation(a parent organization). The intern will work at both offices, 3
days at the farm and 2 days at the office. Specific tasks will include, but
are not limited to: preparing farm newsletter; development of farm business
plan; develop marketing strategies for unique farm products; educational
outreach and participating in school programs. Expected results will be;
organized material for educational outreach and external communications, a
marketing strategy and materials for Cabbage Hill products
and programs, a website and a database for farm activities.

Qualifications:
Graduate level with a background in Environmental Education, Policy,
Administration or Studies. Business and Marketing experience a plus. Intern
must be a self-starter, hands-on person, who loves field work. Must be
enthusiastic about sustainable ecosystems, organic and creative farming,
environmental education and also have excellent written and communication
skills. Must be able to work in the US and start in November.

Terms:
Full-time; 26 weeks; Up to $15.00 per hour; Start Date: November, 1998;
