ACTION NEEDED !NOW! TO DERAIL FAST TRACK TRADE AGREEMENT
This just in from the National Family Farm Coalition: Either tomorrow or
Saturday, 9/25 or 26, the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on
Fast Track Trade Authority. The vote will be close, as there are several
undecided votes. So your calls to the representatives below will count!!

Corporate America is back with Fast Track, the trade authority bill that
forfeits Congress' ability to amend trade agreements, making it easy
to negotiate and pass trade agreements strictly in the corporate
interest. Agreements like NAFTA and GATT turn family farmers into a money
tree for multinational agribusiness corporations. It's time to change our
trade policy!

Fast Track will be used to: approve the Multilateral Agreement on
Investment; initiate, complete, and approve new World Trade Organization
agricultural negotiations; complete and approve free trade agreements with
Chile, Brazil, and Argentina.

If you want more specific info about Fast Track, contact Jim Potts or
Kathy Ozer at 202-543-5675. They have lots of info about it and the
consequences for each commodity. You can also contact them to get other
phone numbers, or for any new information (and to update them if you have
new info)
