But, if you SUBSIDIZE it, there would be no possibility of claiming
sustainability .... This is not to say that large-scale American "farms"
are not subsidized -- of course they are! I don't see them as particularly
sustainable, either, in this light. I wonder if Australian, Argentine, or
Brazilian farmers have achieved sustainability in their relatively less
subsidized systems? I'd much rather look to these farming areas than "the
small european countries" for rationale farm economics.....
