DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Though not limited to the following, the duties
of the staff agronomist are to plan 300+ acres of test plots, plan
fertility programs with farmer customers and distributors, create batch
sheets for custom fertilizer formulations, schedule truckload shipments
of products, conduct on-farm or telephone crop production
troubleshooting, visit customer fields during the growing season,
collect field data, analyze and compile test plot data, assist
distributors with educational seminars, make presentations at company
training sessions, and participate in on-going laboratory research.
QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer graduate degree in agronomy with farm background
and experience in or appreciaton for sustainable ag/renewable farming.
Willingness to acquire and or maintain CCA designation. Ability to
identify yield limiting factors in the field especially in the areas of
soil, plant roots, plant health, weed pressure, etc. Attention to
detail. Good communication skills in both public speaking and one-on-one
situations. Ability to work with agricultural producers and other
scientists.
