Cancer and synthetic toxins

In an earlier post, I made mentioned the relative carcinogenicity (and
general harmfulness) of natural and synthetic substances found in the
environment. A discussion by Dr. Bruce Ames of cancer and its causes
-- environmental, behavioural, chemical, etc. -- can be found on the
