CISA Marketing Campaign Coordinator

Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture (CISA) is a
community organization dedicated to sustaining agriculture in
western Massachusetts by strengthening the relationship between
farmers and consumers. We focus on environmental sustainability,
farm profitability, and on building local and secure food
systems. We are a young non-profit with a small staff and an
active board.

CISA's Marketing Campaign Coordinator will launch a major new
CISA program, a state-of-the-art communications campaign
supporting sustainable agriculture in western Massachusetts. One
of four pilot sites nationwide, CISA's project is supported by
funds from the Kellogg Foundation’s "Tending the Fires of Hope"
program, matched by support from UMass Extension, the Department
of Food and Agriculture, Hampshire College, and a number of
community institutions, banks, and businesses. Successfully
coordinating this collaborative venture will require considerable
skill in both on-the-ground community organizing and
sophisticated communications planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
--Campaign planning in cooperation with the Fires of Hope
Advisory Council, the CISA Board, and a marketing consultant;
--Campaign implementation;
--Partnership development: working with the Director and the
CISA Board to build and maintain a cooperative relationship with
funders, community organizations, institutions, and individuals;
the Advisory Council; the national Fires of Hope team; and the
Kellogg Foundation;
--Building and supporting the Fires of Hope Advisory Council;
--Fundraising and grantwriting;
--Media and public relations;
--Supervision of program assistant, interns, and work-study
students.

Desired Qualifications:
--Commitment to CISA’s mission of sustaining agriculture in
western Massachusetts by strengthening the farmer/consumer
connection;
--Community organizing skills and experience;
--Experience with participatory, cooperative program planning and
execution;
--Marketing, communications, and public relations skills;
--Successful fundraising experience, including the development of
corporate underwriting support, grantwriting, and foundation
fundraising;
--Knowledge of northeastern agriculture;
--Excellent oral and written communications skills;
--Strong interpersonal skills.

Compensation: Approx. $25,000-$30,000, commensurate with
experience. Health insurance, holiday, sick, and vacation
benefits.
