LOCATION OF POSITION:
USDA-CSREES, WASHINGTON, DC
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Competitive vacancy, open to all United States
citizens.
DUTIES: The incumbent working in cooperation with the land grant
university system, CSREES, other USDA agencies, and the private
sector will provide leadership for planning, development, organizing,
and management of research, extension, and educational programs
related to horticulture.
The incumbent will provide national and regional leadership for
USDA/CSREES horticulture programs and activities by addressing issues
related to crop ecology and management of fruits, vegetables,
ornamental and landscape plants. Programs within the purview of the
incumbent are of national and international significance. The
incumbent contributes to the establishment of Agency goals and
priorities within the framework of national agricultural needs. The
incumbent recommends commitment of resources having direct effect on
the initiation, conduct, strenthening, expansion, and/or termination
of horticulture programs and activities.
