Dear List Members,
My name is Debi Hambo. I am a cattle rancher in Hamilton, TX and sure
would appreciate any help you can offer with our situation. If you have
any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
In my search for hay for my cattle, I found a small community in Indiana
that together have donated 940 (so far) bales of hay to our starving
Texas cattle. Please read it over and let me know if we can post
it.....I am desperately searching for the transportation to get the hay
to Hamilton, TX.
Here's what they're needing to do: -LCR

Indiana Hay Coming To Drought Stricken Texas
Hamilton area ranchers suffering from the drought may soon get some
relief thanks to the generosity of fellow cattle producers from Indiana
and the efforts of local rancher Debi Hambo of Hamilton, Texas. She is
coordinating the receipt of the hay and is searching for any way
possible to get transportation for the hay.
While she was searching the nation for hay for her cattle, she came in
contact with Don Amber of Churubusco, Indiana. Don owns the Busco
Buffalo Farm. The community, 15 miles from Fort Wayne has a population
of about 2,000. Most of the farming is grain and livestock (more hogs
than cattle). He and his neighbors have already donated more than 1,000
bales of hay and money for the relief.
Don has assured Debi that there won't be any junk hay; it will be good
quality. Debi's goal is to make sure it get distributed to cattle,
horses, sheep and goats. Don has asked Debi to be sure none of the hay
is sold. Debi expects the hay to arrive in Hamilton on Monday, September
14 at the Hamilton Livestock Commission.
Don feels confident that he has pulled together at least 3 truckloads of
hay to ship to Hamilton. Our needs now rest in the donated trucks to get
the loads here. Should you or anyone know of a means to help with the
transportation, please contact Don Amber by phone or fax at: (219)
693-3266 or Debi Hambo at (254) 386-5766 or fax (254) 386-5721.
Signed, Debi Hambo
