Subject: Organic Vineyards by 2005

Brian,

I'm certain that this is not true - at least not as a state regulation. It
could be that the Wine Institute or some other prominent wine grape
grower's association is considering it as a goal. With the severe El
Nino conditions this year, I'm sure there is no thought of
eliminating fungicides. Both conventional and organic growers would have suffered
great losses this year had sulfur not been available. Sulfur is a
legally defined agricultural pesticide in CA, used by both
conventional and organic growers as needed.

Hi all,

Can anyone confirm this rumor that a law was passed in California that vineyards
will not be allowed to use pesticides by 2005?

Many thanks,
Brian
