Gordon,
I think you are naive to think you can avoid ideology; everyone has an
ideological bias, some are just too naive, stuborn, or foxy to admit it.
As a farmer I would like to be the first to admit that farmers too often
have their noses too close to the ground and dismiss the big picture
issues as BS. The debate over what sustainability is is far from over,
and how that plays out will of course tremendously affect sustainable
agricultural practice. I vote for a balance on sanet, which seems to me
what we've got.
