Having just completed reading "The Thread of Life: the story of genes and
genetic engineering", by Susan Aldridge (Cambridge U Press, 1996), I'd say
if you think what has been written by opponents of genetic engineering (and
other aspects of biotechnology) is sometimes frightening, try reading what
the proponents have to say.
