If your calendar is free tonight (Thursday) from 8-11 or this Sunday for
Brunch from 12-4, come down and check out some excellent Organic Jazz.

Thursday night we feature Jon and Paul Vercesi, two brothers with Jazz
in their blood. Having grown up in Greenwich Village, Jon and Paul have
been creating their special blend of keyboards and sax for years and are
a delight.

On Sunday for Brunch, Jana Steele plays keyboards and offers a unique
blend of jazz and R & B vocals.

Music is free, no cover, no minimum. Our new Spring Menu is full of
excellent new dishes and continuing classics, a new art installation by
Nathan Slate Joseph is in place, and since NY Magazine just voted Herban
Kitchen Best Organic Restaurant in NY, there are more reasons than ever
to head downtown.

And now for something completely different...

Today is the final deadline for comments on the USDA proposed organic
rules. So far, the USDA has received over 100,000 comments from
concerned citizens like yourselves. In addition, both houses of
Congress have drafted letters to Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman,
pressuring him to stop flouting the 1990 Organic Foods Production Act
and listen to the organic community and the American public when it
comes to drafting the final rules. It looks like Glickman has taken
quite a beating over these rules and that's as it should be.

The sponsors of the letter in the Senate are Leahy and Jeffords, and in
the House, Representatives DeFazio and Metcalf. These letters are
excellent, and they support the strong existing Organic standards that
are currently in place. Please call your Congressional Representative
and Senators and ask them to add their signatures to these wonderful
letters.

If you haven't got your USDA Proposed rules comments in yet, there's
still time, although today is the deadline. Make your voice heard. For
online resources and e-mail addresses, check out our links page:

To take action, also be sure to visit http://www.saveorganic.org. The
ExtraAction part of the Take Action section will guide you to be the
most effective in contacting Congress. You can get an excellent
Activist Kit in the Act Locally section of the web site, and that will
help you do even more!

Please send emails all over the world, to everyone you know and to every
mailing list you have access to. Ask everyone to visit the saveorganic
web site and sign into Take Action, and ask them to pass the message on.

We thank you all for your concern, your action and for many of your kind
and supportive e-mails. Keep up the good work and we will prevail in
the Organic Wars!

Hope to see you all soon,

Best regards,

Adam & Jeanette
