The link to the B&J/St. Albans/rBGH item was changed so it pointed
to this Dilbert thing instead of what it said it pointed to. B&J's
Webmaster sent me both the revised link and the text of that item
today, as follows.

Here's the copy that was on our welcome page before Dilbert. More on
our position can be found at:
I don't believe we had a press release about it. The Co-op did do
one.
>>> Our dairy supplier, the St. Albans Cooperative Creamery, has
decided to allow the use of rBGH by some of its members starting July
1, 1998. Ben & Jerry's remains committed to purchasing an rBGH-free
dairy supply. Our market research tells us that when consumers have
the information, they will choose rBGH-free products. We are
confident that the St. Albans co-op will continue to provide Ben &
Jerry's with an rBGH-free dairy supply. We will continue to offer a
premium to co-op member farms that do not use rBGH. Given today's
complex and tenuous farm economics, we understand the co-op's need to
allow member farmers choice and flexibility in the way they manage
their farms so that the co-op and member farms can remain competitive
and viable.
