This gem is from Zen Master/Baseball Slugger Mark McGwire after hitting
home runs in six consecutive major league games. McGwire, batting .438
with two doubles and five walks, said he was unaware of the record until
reporters told him about it.

“Well, I’m glad I’m in the company with (Willie Mays),” McGwire said.
“Anytime you get mentioned with a Hall of Famer like that, it’s an
honor.”

He also didn’t put much stock in his fast start.

***“I don’t look at it that way and I don’t talk about it that way,”
McGwire said. “I just go up there and look for the ball and try to hit
it. You’ve got to simplify things.***
