Greg and Steve, thanks for the input on benefits of hog manure for corn
production. We raise veg. and pastured chickens for our roadside stand and
CSA, and have been considering adding a few pigs to our management plan.
Initially we considered rotational fencing along a winrow of compost, letting
the pigs turn, and add to, the piles. More recently we have been wondering
about the benefits of rotating the pigs through one of our fields that will be
fallow this year. This field has a severe bind weed problem, and we are
wondering what effect the pigs would have on the bind weed. Does anyone have
any experience with this?
