ANNOUNCEMENT
AMERICORPS - COMMUNITY SERVICE JOBS AVAILABLE - FULL-TIME OR
SUMMER
AmeriCorps, the national service program, is currently
looking to fill thousands of positions around the country.
These positions are, for the most part, working with
non-profit organizations on the issues of Education, the
Environment, Public Safety, or Unmet Human Needs. Most are
full-time, year-long jobs, but some of them are summer
positions working with literacy programs. The positions are
very diverse, some requiring work within a team while others
are more independent.
All of the positions pay a basic living allowance and at the
end of the service an award which can be used to pay for
future education or to pay off loans. The education award is
$4725 for year-long positions and $1000 for summer jobs.
During your service student loans can be deferred and basic
health insurance is provided.
To learn more about AmeriCorps and the opportunities for
fulfilling jobs in community service come to one of the
upcoming Information Sessions:
This Thursday, the 19th, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Hanes Hall,
room 210
Next Wednesday, the 25th, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Hanes Hall,
room 209.
