Itronics Completes Major Expansion of Its Gold'n Gro Fertilizer Product
Line

RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 1998--Itronics Inc. (ITRO) announced
today that its photobyproduct recycling subsidiary, Itronics Metallurgical,
Inc., has completed development of 11 new Gold'n Gro Fertilizer products.

The new products will be introduced into the Nevada and California
fertilizer markets during 1998.

The Gold'n Gro product line uses recycled photographic liquids that
have
been de-metallized and specially conditioned for fertilizer using
proprietary
technology developed by Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. during more than 9
years
of research and development work.

Itronics' first product, Gold'n Gro 20-1-7, which was ranked No. 1 for
two consecutive years in a University of California Riverside evaluation
program, took more than 8 years to develop.

Since March of 1997, Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. has completed
development of 15 Gold'n Gro products. In association with a major
fertilizer
retailer, development of three non-Gold'n Gro products is also being
completed
bringing the number of new products produced over the last 12 months to 18.

The Gold'n Gro product line now includes three formulations for
fertilization of golf course tees and greens, and three formulations for
use
in golf course sprinkler fertigation.

There are two micro-nutrient products for general use, and seven
products
designed for use in drip and sprinkler fertigation systems for wine grapes,
citrus, ornamentals, and vegetables.

These products cover most of the applications being targeted in the
Turf,
Ornamental, and Professional Grower markets in the Western United States.

Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. is developing a fertilizer injector
system
that can be used by golf courses and professional growers to inject the
Gold'n
Gro fertilizers into drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. Completion of
this
product development is targeted for the second quarter of this year.

Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. will now shift the focus of its
development
efforts to fertilizer marketing and sales.

Itronics Inc. is a Reno-based company specializing in recycling
technology development, photobyproduct recycling, silver refining, and
technical services for the mining and recycling industries. -0- *T
