ORGANIC FARMING MEETING

A free organic farming meeting is being sponsored by Minnesota B
IO-AG Inc. on Tuesday, March 17th. The meeting will be from 10:30
a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Lanesboro Community Center. Anyone who is
interested in organic farming or currently farming organically is
invited to attend.
The featured speaker will be Bart Hall. Hall has four years
experience on the International OCIA Executive Committee, five years
experience on the International OCIA Standards Committee, has been
involved with the USDA ATTRA Program, has operated a 160 acre organic
farm, has 25 years in the organic business and is a Certified Organic
Inspector.
The topics to be discussed will include organic markets ($20 beans;
$19 milk; $5 corn), organic certification and organic crop fertility
and management. Participants are encouraged to bring questions about
organic farming.
