ANNOUNCING: THE 1998 WORLD FOOD AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE SYMPOSIUM
Feb. 17 /98
"Pacific Rim Trade, Food Safety and Strategic Issues:
Implications for the U.S. Beef and Pork Industries"
to be held from May 27-28, 1998
at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
This forum will utilize the expertise of researchers, industry leaders,
and policy makers to identify and address strategic issues affecting beef
and pork exports to Pacific Rim countries. These trade, food safety,
quality and related issues will be discussed as a means of developing an
industry strategy that will help the U.S. beef and pork industry maintain
and expand these export markets. Another goal will be to identify future
research and outreach priorities that can help expand U.S. beef and pork
exports. About 25 internationally-recognized experts and scientists will
make presentations at this symposium. For more information on the
symposium and to obtain registration materials, please visit our web site
