FYI -
Thought you might be interested about this news regarding John Ikerd
(our local "father of sustainable ag") - you know, the one who runs
all the time and eats right (scary!). Anyway, you might think of him,
have him in your prayers and/or drop him a card. I'm broadcasting this
to sanet-mg, because I know John has had a lot of impact on programs
and people across the country.

When going in for his routine 6 month checkup, the doctors didn't like
the results of his stress test. He will have triple by-pass open
heart surgery tomorrow (Thursday). Debi Kelly of MAC talked with him
just a few minutes ago and she says he is in good spirits. He says he
will not be at the Missouri soils workshop (March 4), but he hopes to
attend small portions of our sustainable ag conference (Columbia)
March 5-7. [That's the irrepressible John!]

He is at the University Hospital, 4 West room 14.
