Learn about cover crops at a "Farmer to Farmer" program February 19, 1998
at the Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) near Battle Creek in southwest
Michigan. The program runs runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration costs
$15 and includes lunch.
Cover crops can fit into many farming systems, providing erosion control,
nutrients, livestock forage and weed control. Farmers who have used
covers in their operations will share their experience during this
practical session.
An added attraction -- KBS is the site of a great deal of long-term
research into the ecological bases of crop and livestock production systems.
To register for the Farmer to Farmer session on cover crops or to request
more information about the program and speakers, call the KBS Extension
office at 1-800-521-2619.
