world cost of production trends

Can somebody please point me to some costs of production of various agricultural commodities
around the world? Such as dairy, beef, hogs, corn, beans, wheat, etc.
We all see a lot of comments from reporters that the US is the most efficient group of farmers in the world.
I'm wanting to find out if they are using the wrong word. I would suspect they should be saying American
farmers are one of the most productive groups in the world.
The trend in crops(and animals for that matter) in the USA is to get bigger to cover costs of living increases(and
new technology). Is it the same around the rest of the world or are some farm communities looking at lowering costs of production instead of increasing volumes of sales?
Best wishes,
