Hi all,
I am a graduate student at the University of Minnesota and I am trying to
develop an idea for a paper I plan to write. I started thinking about how
might Native American stories teach science, or how they might present a
version of scientific thought, that is distinct from the standard Western
model of science. While I recognize that the science of astronomy is
particularly well developed in Native American stories and cultures, I am
more interesting in Biology, and more specifically, agriculture or
medicine.
I would like some help in finding anything -- but these thigns in
particular:
--articles, etc. that show a distinction between Native and Western
scientific thought
--specific Native American stories that have an element of teaching
agriculture/medicine
--articles, etc. on how Western science is a construction
Are my wants and desires here clear enough? Do I need to work out my ideas
more? Let me know, please.
