Sean - I'm certain you'll get good response to your questions, especially
from the hydroponics readers. We've been having some discussion of this
issue lately on our "aquaponics" mail group, and your member might benefit
from subscribing to that list also.
We feel confident that organic standards can indeed apply to hydroponic-type
systems using a natural nutrient base such as fish effluent, with safeguards
as to the type of input. However, I think that any material used to clean a
system would have to be closely examined.
