We are already dumping millions of tons of excess nitrogen on farm land
and turf. It is a real problem. Don't you think you're getting carried
away with this Rhizobium thing. Transgenic or not, it is tightly
coupled to roots. It is going to be a drop in the bucket compared to
ordinary fertilizer application. It won't even make a blip on the
"nitrogen screen." Improving nitrogen fertilizer recommendations would
be a lot more productive than protesting against Rhizobium.
