Position Announcement

Position: Project Coordinator (SRA II). Central Coast Vegetable IPM Project
Job #: 6-17-733
Location: University of California Cooperative Extension, Monterey County,
1432 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA, 93901.

The Central Coast Vegetable IPM Project seeks a Project Coordinator to
coordinate and help execute a large-scale insect pest management
implementation project in Central Coast lettuce and celery. The Project
Coordinator will have primary responsibility for the daily operation of this
large-scale project. Responsibilities include: establish, coordinate and
monitor field plots; organize and conduct educational meetings; produce
newsletter copy; collect, synthesize and disseminate written and verbal
information to growers, ranch managers, and pest control advisors. The
Project Coordinator will work under the guidance of a project management team
with direct supervision provided by the Monterey County Entomology Farm
Advisor. The position is funded for three years with a possibility for yearly
renewal thereafter. Advanced course work in entomology, plant protection,
crop science or a related field is expected with extensive experience in
agricultural field production or research.

The salary and benefits package are comparable to a county farm advisor
(maximum starting salary approximately $45,000 DOE). Interested persons
